Auckland City Mission provides integrated social services to those Aucklanders most in need. The Mission provides professional support services to the Homeless, including those sleeping rough on Auckland's inner-city streets and spaces; families and individuals living in poverty; and those suffering from ill health, addictions and isolation. The Mission supplies Emergency Food Parcels direct to those in need, as well as supplying another 70 community foodbanks from Thames to Kaitaia. Mission staff also provide beds, bedding and household items to those in need. Auckland City Mission also runs The Calder Centre, a low-cost general medical practice; Detox - a 10 bed residential social detoxifcation facility providing support to those withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs; and 3 second-hand shops.
