I started Irenicon in 1980 when I could see that HR would have difficulty with the law and lawyers would have difficulty coming up with useful commercially viable advice. Many of our client contacts are line managers and CEOs who want real solutions that add value to their business. When I am not busy advising on employment law my passions in life are gardening and argentinean tango. These bring me some useful skills for the workplace. I know how to prune a young shrub or an old tree to maximise for growth - which is very useful for restructuring and cut backs. I can improve something that looks good and turn on a sixpence if I have to follow a leader through unexpected twists and turns. Now I am learning how to dance Swing. Who knows what new skills that will add to my portfolio.
