Bio

Bill has been engaged in homeland security at the federal, state, and local level, which provides him with a unique understanding of complex policy issues, as well as the support, training, and resources needed to protect our families. He joined the Navy as an enlisted sailor, working his way up to Chief Petty Officer. Once receiving his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland he was commissioned as an intelligence officer and Naval Special Warfare Intelligence Officer. Among his many accomplishments, he also proudly fought for our country during Operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Desert Provide. In 1999 he joined AMTI as senior vice president and co-owner, he helped transform this 20-person defense technology corporation, headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, into a leading national supplier of professional and technical services with over 600 employees, 6 satellite offices, and 23 additional client-site locations. AMTI was recognized as the 9th fastest growing business in VA. In December of 2006 AMTI was sold to SAIC, a 45,000 person, 9 Billion dollar company. This was the true American success story. Today, Bill is mentoring other neighboring companies, to enhance the local economy and provide new job opportunities. Bill sought candidacy and was elected to one of the at-large positions, Virginia Beach City Council, May of 2006. Bill's strong spirit of cooperation and collaboration also extends to his humanitarian contributions. He is active participant in the CHKD’s Prevent Child Abuse, Hampton Roads Community Care, and Noblemen of Virginia Beach programs, as well as other altruistic activities. In addition to supporting and mentoring the youth of Hampton Roads, Bill is currently raising his two children, Michael and Jennifer. At home-as in the workplace and community-he is leading by example, instilling traditional views and values, and contributing to the future success of our nation.
