Bio

Challenged America is a free sailing program designed by individuals with disabilities for others with disabilities. We cater to disabled children, disabled veterans and disabled adults in general. Dedicated to advance the rehabilitation and enhance a person’s physical and psychological well-being, Challenged America promotes and increases successful mainstream outcomes by program participants. Our program is open to disabled individuals, their families, caregivers and professionals in rehabilitation. Our small boat sailing program uses Martin 16s especially designed for disabled sailors and our adaptive technology allows us to accommodate all levels of disabilities Our big boat program for advanced sailing, allows disabled and able crews to race in San Diego Bay and offshore Challenged America participated twice (in 2003 and 2005) in the Transpac yacht race from Los Angeles to Honolulu Challenged America is one of five programs of the charitable, 501(c)(3), Disabled Businesspersons Association (DBA).
