Clark Haalanddotcom Confident, innovative and enthusiastic product management professional skilled in leading direct reports as well as cross-functional teams, managing a product line from cradle to grave, determining and documenting new product requirements, and launching new products to the marketplace. I have spent about the last six years working in the software industry with the greatest group of people one could hope to work with. I had the great fortune to be able to work in quite a few different positions within this organization starting out working through the support department where I developed strong analytical methodologies for problem solving and research. I really discovered a new passion as the Product Manager. It was a new position for the organization and me. I loved doing market research, roadmap creation, win/loss analysis and requirements gathering. Out of necessity, I also assumed responsibilities of Project Management and Business Analyst. I moved into the position of Director of Product Development I assumed administrative responsibilities, in addition to the functions of Product Manager and led a team of developers through an innovative and dramatic product revision of a new user interface and new feature set. Also in this position, I was accountable for staff development, performance reviews and departmental and status meetings. Prior to completing my undergraduate degree in Information Technology in 2004 I worked primarily in the salon/ beauty industry as a salon manager, stylist and trainer. I really developed and refined strong interpersonal skills during this time. It takes a unique skill set to effectively interact with people at such a personal level. The ability to empathize, listen and ask the right questions, as well as deliver an honest answer is really the secret and I still place high value on those skills.
