With a degree in Interior Decorating and Design and 20 years field experience, I've decided to specialize in JUST color. I launched my career as a Graphic Designer for a few Long Island newspapers. Working with just black and white at the time convinced me to pursue something more colorful. I then became a Ceramic Decorator for a small company in NY where I hand painted the Audubon collection on fine china. More hand painting on lamps for Siemens furniture also in NY and then, my favorite job, as a Color Matcher and R&D for a wallpaper company in Coram, NY. It was then that I decided that color was hands down, my destiny. Moving to Pittsburgh where the Design field took a 180, I worked with several Interior Design firms and specialized in everything from walls to floors - wallpaper, drapery design, granite countertops design, exotic wood flooring and everything you would need to complete the look of your home. 15 years later, I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I decided to specialize in what I loved the most  - color - and there is a HUGE demand for it here. I have a very successful color consulting business, Decorating by Donna. Using my Color Recipes which is an innovative niche in this colorful world, is a great way to catch the eye of my clients. They actually have said to me âI saw your Color Recipes and I would like 'Turkey Dinner' on my walls.â How fun is that?
