Our mission is to create an atmosphere that is both supportive and informative in a caring, safe environment for our members to talk to their peers about depression, anxiety, mood disorders, medications, therapy and recovery.

Our vision is to advance the public awareness of mental health issues so as to eliminate the stigma that surrounds depression and mood disorders through education and advocacy, not to forget to strive to obtain the equality for mental health care coverage as it is no different from any other medical illness.

DF filled a void by offering a meeting place or forums, if you will, for discussions, via a computer website, back in 2001 as a .com, to individuals suffering from depression, and all forms of mental illness.

Through a series of posts, our members are assured that they are not alone, that on these forums we share authoritative information and through our common experiences as well. We have forums to discuss and answer general concerns about all forms of mental health as well as diseases that are co-morbid with mental illness. Our medical conditions are the bond that our members all share. We are individuals with the commonality of mental illness who are seeking to meet others for the purpose of gathering information, listening, supporting and helping our fellow members in a safe environment.

Our Members compare disorders. Anywhere from diseases such as depression to depression causing diseases as well as medications. We have never permitted any member to put down another or an antidepressant, physician nor pharmacutical on our website.
