Drew Rutherford

Bio

Drew Rutherford is a graduate assistant SID at the University of Tennessee, covering men's swimming and diving and men's basketball. The Bristol, Tenn., native begins his third year at Tennessee after spending two years as a student assistant SID. After joining the sports information office in 2008, Rutherford became the men's swimming and diving SID and assisted the sports information director for baseball. The following year he served in supporting positions to both the football and basketball sports information directors. A 2010 graduate of Tennessee, Rutherford earned his degree in public relations and is now pursuing a master's degree in sports management. While a student at Tennessee, Rutherford spent three years as a part of Relay For Life of UT, the signature event of the American Cancer Society. In his final year with the organization, he served as the executive chairperson of the organization and led the more than 1000 participants to raise a four-year-high fundraising mark of $65,000. For his efforts through Relay For Life, Rutherford received the Dean of Students' Award for Outstanding Contributions to Campus Life.
