I have been a freelance editor, indexer, and proofreader since graduating from Messiah College in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in English. Since then, I have obtained a master's degree in publishing from The George Washington University, as well as certificates in editing and book publishing from the University of Virginia and a certificate in professional editing from EEI Communications. I have also taken Basic Indexing from the USDA Graduate School and Indexing Theory and Practice from the University of California at Berkeley. I have worked as a program assistant for the American Prosecutors Research Institute, preparing and editing the course materials for trainings, and as assistant editor for the National Society of Professional Engineers, editing its magazine, newsletters, and various other publications. In 2007, upon graduation from GW, I began freelancing full time. As an editor, indexer, and proofreader, I have worked on publications including magazines and books in such genres as engineering, carpentry, training and development, encyclopedias, young adult, children's, history, memoir, fiction, and more.
