Bio

An Entrepreneur and Health Care Investor, Ed Michael Reggie serves on a variety of corporate and nonprofit boards of directors. In his role as Managing Director of Future Factory, he collaborates with the Investment Committee in making investment choices, overseeing portfolio companies and working with their management staff to attain growth and profit. Mr. Reggie is Chairman of the Board of GuideStar Clinical Trials Management a Chicago-based company which provides encompassing, outsource clinical trials management services to hospitals and physician practices across the nation. Also, Mr. Reggie serves on the Board of the New Orleans BioInnovation Center, a wet lab incubator and a Good Manufacturing Practices laboratory for stem cell, vector and DNA production. Ed Michael started American LIFECARE, a multi-state managed care organization, which was later acquired by The Carlyle Group. Earlier, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Regent Health System, a rural hospital chain. He was a founding member of the Louisiana Health Care Commission. Previously in his career he served as a commercial bank president. Ed Michael has held a number of appointments in the Tulane University Health Sciences Center. In 2004 he received the university’s Champion of Public Health Award. Ed Michael advocates micro-lending initiatives in developing countries through his roles as Treasurer and Trustee of Freedom from Hunger and Guarantor of MicroCredit Enterprises, both based in northern California. He has served as a healthcare system examiner in Cuba, Syria, Jordan, Israel and the occupied territories as a member of the Human Rights Project, Washington, D.C. and he also has been a delegate to Academy of International Health Studies trade missions to Rome and Hong Kong. Ed Michael achieved his Master of Business Administration degree from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
