I consider myself a concerned planetary citizen and an activist for social and ecological justice. 25 years ago I embarked upon a journey of self-education into world history, behavioral sciences and cultural anthropology. I have been driven by the philosophical question: How did the world get to be what it is today? Guided by the works of Joseph Campbell, Jose Arguelles, James DeMeo and Jerry Mander I've sought to learn more about the world and culture I have inherited. Emergent-Culture is a record of my research, my discoveries and my commentaries about Western Culture in particular. The site provides news and information which appeals to our more socially and ecologically responsible selves. The site is divided into 7 reading rooms. Each room examines a fundamental aspect of Western Culture inclusive of, but not limited to information literacy, psychology, health, our cultural burden, our world views, our political and religious ideologies, the source of our problems, some solutions and the emerging cultural trends and movements.
