Gavin Whittaker

Gavin is a leader, 'technologist' and author. His ongoing achievements build on his solid track record exemplifying his ability to understand, communicate and guide others to success. Gavin's experience is from working in the IT reseller channel and as a shareholder and senior manager for e-learning and telecommunications providers. He has broad experience working both nationally, overseas and on projects of significance. * Gavin designed and went on to lead the development team of a Learner Management System to improve administration efficiency and provide a centralised Management Information System. This system was successful, subsequently endorsed by The University for Industry and adopted by other national training centres. * In 2000, Gavin led the supply and installation of a large IT network infrastructure to support a multi-national archaeological dig in southern Albania. Despite numerous unanticipated challenges of working in what was effectively a 3rd world country, the project was completed on time and within budget. * In partnership with D-Link, Gavin managed the installation of one of the first wireless networks into a UK school. In 2001 Gavin led Midland's based e-learning provider ASA Training to be awarded by the University for Industry as Nottinghamshire's sole Premier Business Centre. This accolade led to large contracts with Barclays Bank, Imperial Tobacco and provision into the Public Sector. A member of the Technology Channels Association and sits on the national CompTIA Reseller Forum, advising at the forefront of innovation; and responsible for maximising the benefits organisations receive from their investments in technology. Whilst remaining active in ICT, Gavin has relinquished his directorship in order to concentrate on his work writing books, articles and delivering workshops in e-business related technologies.
