26 years of front line ministry experience as associate pastor, youth pastor, maternity home director, senior pastor husband, father and friend, but I feel like I am just starting out. The current cultural shifts that are affecting the church are so huge and rapid that the church of 2020 will be nearly indistinguishable from the church of 2000. I am happy to be alive and in the Lord's service, and ready to be proactive and liquid in adjusting to the changes we face. Courage is the key ingredient. Courage to dream, courage to obey when the culture says it's okay not to, courage to change. If we do not change individual churches will perish. This is already happening at an alarming rate. The church that will emerge will be leaner and kinder and live more urgently and passionately than it's predecessor at the end of the 20th century. "Whatever becomes of churches, the Church of Christ shall never have its strength so sapped by abuses that it must perish, or its lustre so dimmed that the Lord of the Temple must depart from His sanctuary." Alexander MacLaren President Lehigh Christian Alumni (Lehigh University Bethlehem, Pa.)(since 1995) Board Chair Pregnancy Care Center of the Susquehanna Valley (Pa.) President Vision for Growth Coal Township/Shamokin Pa. Area Presbyter and Catalyst group leader North Central Section of the Assemblies of God Pennsylvania/Delaware District Collector and seller of old books Gardener- organic Married to the incredible faith Tilmont earl for 29 years. It's getting better all the time. "With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don't hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort." 1 Corinthians 15:58 Message
