Hawley Roddick

Bio

I've had both novels and nonfiction books published in the USA and abroad. I wrote the books under the names Ellen Roddick, Ellen Meade, or Hawley Roddick. I've also written for magazines and have given my WriteAssets® seminars for Fortune 500 companies as well as for small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Articles about my work have appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and elsewhere. Then, at Wellesley College, I majored in English literature with a minor in art history. During college summers I studied art in Italy and acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in Manhattan. In addition, I've been privileged to live in Manhattan (for many years), Rome (for a year), Bainbridge Island, Bodega Bay, Santa Fe, and Santa Barbara. I recently left the Napa Valley for Monterey in order to be near my son and his family. Volunteer work has included parent fundraising for the United Nations International School in Manhattan and for Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts. I was a co-founder of Seal Watch in Jenner, California, and of PEN New Mexico. Friends and family enrich my life, and I feel privileged to help my clients preserve their family, career, and company histories in handsome books.
