Bio

Larry has over 35 years of full-time experience in occupational health & safety (construction, manufacturing, Ontario Ministry of Labour [OMOL]and Industrial Accident Prevention Association - now Workplace Safety & Prevention Services). He is able to do customized training, has recently trained on chemical safety, GHS and WHMIS, traffic control, confined spaces, noise testing, hearing protection, construction safety and health, and health & safety representatives (small firms). Larry tests hazardous industrial noise as well as office noise (privacy, open concept and enclosed offices) using state of the art equipment. He has completed numerous Pre-Start Health & Safety Reviews (PSH&SR's) and has a PEO Certificate of Authorization permitting him to do PSH&SR's and hazardous area classifications. Larry assists companies in investigating critical injuries and fatalities, and preparing for possible charges. He does on-site OH&S Consultation/ Inspections. Larry also helps firms prepare for WSIB Workwell audits, and close "gaps" to minimize the potential for WSIB surcharges. Larry is able to do OH&S Management System audits (CSA Z1000) and Emergency Management audits (CSA Z1600). He graduated as a chemical engineer, and can assist with chemical control programs, preparing for GHS changes to WHMIS, and updating of MSDS's/ SDS's. Larry is a member, CSSE (Canadian Society for Safety Engineering), Canadian Acoustical Association, PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) and ICOR (International Consortium for Organizational Resilience); a Volunteer at Canadian Red Cross (Disaster Management), IAPA/ WSPS (Chapter Committee Chair; Forum North conference Planning committee), Chamber of Commerce (Small Business committee Chair; Education committee) and Citizens' Council (advice to provincial MOH&LTC).
