I grew up in a family dedicated to our National Forests and the Outdoor Lifestyle. My father served 35 years in the US Forest Service and he and I were wonderful hunting partners for most all of those years. I started hunting at the age of 12 when I earned the right through proving I understood gun safety and I was able to hunt dove and pheasant. At the age of 14 I was able to go on my first deer hunt in the Eastern Sierra's in the Inyo National Forest. I took my first shot at a deer with a bow after having practiced all summer. My father believed that accuracy with essentail before I could be allowed to go into the field so I practiced all summer before I was tested by him in the fall. The ultimate test was on a live animal and while I missed due to buck fever, the experience haunted me for years and drove my passion for hunting and the outdoors even deeper. In 2003, My father and were able to go on our first elk hunt together that was guided in Montana and I fell in love with the land, the elk and the Western Mountains and two years later I bought into an outfitting business and began work as a guide and head of marketing for the operation. After 2 years, I sold out my share of the business and bought the HuntingLife.com domain name. After a year of development, we put up our first site and now 4 years later we are growing daily and providing a National source for Hunting and Conservation News, Product Reviews, Pro Staff Journals, Video Podcasts and our World Class Outfitter Directory. I have been fortunate in my life to have had the opportunity to expereince some wonderful people, wonderful places and exciting hunts. My passions for the outdoors lead to a tremendous amount of volunteer work for organizations like Pheasants Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Wild Turkey Foundation and Safari Club International. Hunting and Photography and the occassional fishing trip keep me out of trouble and extremely busy.
