International Foundation for Cultural Property Protection was formed in January 1999 to provide an opportunity for professional involved in the protection of cultural properties and public institutions to further professional development, gain insight and information about new technology, network with peers, and enhance ethical practices. IFCPP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational association. Goals & Objectives Provide a consistent source of information and education for persons responsible for the protection of cultural, educational, and public institutions. Develop and maintain professional and ethical guidelines for the performance of protection related services Conduct regional training programs, seminars, and workshops that enable practitioners at every level to participate. Offer national certification for those professionals responsible for the protection of cultural, educational, and public institutions. Enhance the distribution and sharing of professional publications, educational material, training, and other resources. Encourage recognition and advancement of those professionals involved in the protection of cultural, educational, and public institutions. Certification Courses Certified Institutional Protection Specialist (CIPS): designates those line officers, mid-level supervisors, or front-line staff working in, or directly responsible for, the protection of a cultural institution. Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM): designates those managers, directors, administrators, or others responsible for the protection of a cultural institution. Candidates in this category include contract or proprietary security managers, security directors, law enforcement officers, facility managers, administrators, or those ultimately responsible for protection of the facility.
