Jereme Thaxton

Location: Salt Lake City, UT US
Website: http://t.co/Ag2faB5eW6

Jereme is an internationally published photographer and if there is one thing he is passionate about, it is being outside, in constantly changing environments, often risking life and limb to get the shot. His photography career began in high school while writing and shooting for an outdoors column in his local newspaper. These formative years gave him a deep appreciation for the outdoors and traveling but also taught him to think on his feet, perform under deadline pressure and become a thoughtful story-teller. This experience also taught him he could have his cake and eat it too, and he has blurred the lines between personal passions and professional life from that point onward. Shooting his way through college, he credits his formal background in landscape architecture to giving him a deeper understanding of conservation related issues and the ability to capture a distinct sense of place on every assignment. He enjoys exploring remote regions of the world and combines his photojournalistic eye for creating a story with his design background for uniquely composed frames. He expanded into shooting video in 2002 and has been shooting ambidextrously ever since, with clients often commissioning both video and stills while on assignment. To him, capturing a sequence of events and documenting a story is the same whether stopping an athlete at 1/5000th of a second or panning a landscape at 24 frames per second. Storytelling—regardless of medium—is what drives him. Editorially, his work has appeared in major publications such as Field & Stream, Playboy, Southern Living and Ducks Unlimited. Corporate clients have included L.L. Bean, Gore-Tex, Pradco, Mossy Oak, Heineken and Cabela’s and his video work has appeared on networks such as the Outdoor Channel, Versus and ESPN2. He also photographs destinations for a variety of commercial clients including design firms, restaurants, boutique hotels and large resorts throughout the world.
