Bio

St. Tammany Parish is Louisiana's Northshore. We’re 45 minutes north of New Orleans – and a world away. St. Tammany Tourist & Convention Commission was established to promote Louisiana's Northshore as a highly desirable destination for travelers, and to provide assistance to travel agents, tour operators, sporting event organizers, and meeting planners. The Northshore is the natural choice for families, foodies, nature lovers, golfers and art enthusiasts. Visitors enjoy our great attractions, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic dining. Find fun and funky festivals, eclectic shopping, and urban pleasures in communities surrounded by beautiful green spaces. Cycle the Tammany Trace or take a swamp tour, gallery-hop, hunt antiques and enjoy a wine tasting – we offer a feast for all the senses. Louisiana is also the third largest location for filmmakers in the U.S., and St. Tammany has hosted dozens of film and TV productions including: The Lucky One, Green Lantern, The Mechanic, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Jonah Hex, and more. Our varied locations, historic downtowns and diverse architectural styles are among the reasons Louisiana’s Northshore is the perfect film location. We offer full-service assistance including scouting for locations, accommodations, industry contacts and workforce development. For help bringing your next project to Louisiana's Northshore, contact Loren Legendre, Film Commission Specialist, at Loren@LouisianaNorthshore.com. We welcome visitors at two locations in St. Tammany where you can get up-to-date info on where to stay, where to play, where to eat, and what's happening right now in St. Tammany. In Mandeville just off of I-12/Exit 65 at Highway 59, relax at our unique, center in the woods, overlooking hundreds of native trees and plants. In Slidell, pick up great St. Tammany souvenirs at Bayou Country Village off of Exit 261 at Oak Harbor.
