Bio

L. Hilton Creative is the name of my freelance business. While the name may imply design, I am not a graphic designer (although I do offer design for many forms of marketing collateral - essentially all but website). I am a writer specializing in marketing materials, a small business marketer, and a conceptual consultant. Often times, it makes me leary when I see profiles in which the person claims to do it all - but then I think of my own wide and varied background experience. I started my first internet business at twenty-four, my second at thirty, and in between took on two additional businesses with my husband. In that time, and in conjunction with my corporate career, I have learned a great deal about the ever-changing business landscape - indeed a lifelong process. In terms of my corporate experience, I have worked as a copywriter (directly after college) - but a majority of my background is in marketing. I've worked for one of the top ten advertising agencies in the world, a home entertainment company, and the Washington Post before going out on my own. As a freelance provider, I specialize in developing effective marketing collateral. My experience has given me an incredible edge for my copywriting service, and my marketing expertise lends itself to small business--especially when it comes to the internet. I also dabble in design because I have an art background, which allows me to provide complete writing and design service for marketing collateral. While I am freelance to keep overhead low, I have an additional marketer, copywriter, and graphic designer on staff for larger projects. I value honesty, integrity, and sincerity. I enjoy building long-term relationships with my clients, and my goal is to be a creative, effective resource for B2B and B2C businesses.
