The Long Island Music Hall of Fame is dedicated to the idea that our musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. A place to inspire, in each person, the desire to explore and celebrate music in all its forms. A place where the music community will find the support, resources and leadership necessary to aid them in that exploration. This will be an environment to inspire. entertain, educate, and engage each person in the creative process. The Long Island Music Hall of Fame Is a 501(c)(3) membership organization Is dedicated to the idea that Long Island's musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. Defines Long Island as Kings, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties Inspires in each person the desire to explore and celebrate music in all its forms - rock, classical, blues, hip-hop, jazz, folk and many other genres Is a place where the music community will find the support, resources and leadership necessary to aid them in that exploration. Was created by a group of intensely dedicated Long Island music lovers from the publishing, education, music retailing, promotion and public relations industries. The Long Island Music Hall of Fame Awards An annual Hall of Fame Induction Gala honoring native Long Island musicians, as well as those who have lived a significant part of their life on Long Island. *We have a list of more than 500 future Hall of Fame Inductees The Long Island Hall of Fame Programs Music scholarships Traveling educational exhibits in libraries and schools A permanent home for the story of the Island's musical heritage. This will feature: A museum of Long Island music history An education facility, designed in cooperation with the Long Island music education community Resource Center - an archive of resources for research into all aspects of the music business Performance Venues
