Leigh Fazzina is healthcare communications consultant. She is the Principal of Fazzina & Co. Communications Consulting, Inc., a healthcare public relations and social media communications consultancy, and the lead Social Media Communications Consultant with Sam Brown, Inc., a leading independent healthcare communications agency serving the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology industries. With 17 years of experience under her belt and close to a dozen industry awards, Leigh has worked in many areas of healthcare including pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, clinical trials, patient recruitment, medical society and peer-reviewed medical journal communications and hospital care. Her experience includes developing and implementing integrated internal and external communications strategies including media relations, broadcast communications, patient education, crisis/advocacy communications, social media communications, and brand communications. Leigh provides strategic direction for her clients from tailoring and adapting communications messages in the changing news media landscape, to social media communications education, auditing, strategizing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and measuring; teaching clients that social media and engagement is a communications function that falls underneath the public relations umbrella.
