Marijuana legalization has become one of the hottest topics in politics. With the economic meltdown of 2008/2009 our states and government should legalize marijuana, thus ending a large potion of the failed drug war and begin to tax marijuana to the tune of billions of dollars a year. When our website came to Twitter, we quickly noticed 1000's of pro-marijuana accounts attempting to spread news of legalization. This is a great thing for the movement and we support each of them. The problem is that having 5,000 accounts with 1,000 followers isn't going to get the message across as well as can with a single million follower account. So we set out with this lofty goal in mind: To recruit 1,000,000 Tweeple who support legalization and link them all together in one powerful voice that the internet and media simply can not avoid. This year alone, over 1,000,000 U.S. citizens will be arrested for using, seling, or buying cannabis. Of all drug related arrests over 50% are from marijuana and over 60%+ of those are citizens under the age of 30. It's time to quit putting our youth in jail for something so simple. A typical marijuana charge can result in jail time, thousands of dollars in fees, fines, and court costs. We live in a free country and can do better than this. Remember, a follow is your vote.
