Bio

After more than 20 years working in marketing, I'm finally in a job that I've been training for all my life: promoting a Northern Michigan Lifestyle. I've been a weekend tourist Up North, visited for whole summers at a time and now I live here--all three are different experiences and have different benefits and challenges. Married with a young child gives me a family perspective and helps me recognize the stress and communications clutter in our collective lives. There's no tolerance for irrelevance and mass communications translates to huge disconnect. I've had a broad background working in agriculture, defense, automotive, home decor and outdoor sporting goods. And lots of wonderful incongruity like the City of Southfield, Howard & Howard attorneys and Oneupweb thrown in for spice. I'm a fan of integrated marketing; I like to use whatever means is appropriate to reach a marketing objective, whether it is advertising, PR, merchandising, sales promotion, research, internet marketing,etc. All these things need to work together. Expect me to ask a lot of questions, too, as I try to understand the needs of the audiences I hope to serve.
