A specialist family solicitor running North Devon's largest dedicated family law firm. My firm won the Law Society's Client Service Award in 2010 - "Different and making a difference” Law Society approved Children panel solicitor providing advice to clients on complex children and vulnerable adult cases whether on relationship breakdown or because social services are invovled with the family or adult. The firm advises on Divorce, Financial issues and Domestic Violence. My career started in Maidenhead working for Kidd Rapinet Solicitors. I qualified in their Slough office as a criminal lawyer mixed with a wide range of family, employment and civil law work. I began building my expertise in Child law work very early on and quickly established a reputation as a committed, tenacious advocate for parents involved with social services and at risk children. In 1995 the lure of Exmoor and the North Devon coast dragged me home to work for a Barnstaple firm. I quickly established my reputation for Family Law and Children Law work and became one of the most successful family lawyers in the region. This led on to my decision in 2005 to establish my own specialist and dedicated team of Family Lawyers outside of the traditional High Street firm model. I purchased premises in Bear Street which were ideal and redeveloped them, moving in from temporary offices in October 2006. Since starting out in 2005 I now have a team of four lawyers working with me all dedicated to Family Law work, making us the largest dedicated specialist Family Law firm in North Devon. We deal with complex issues and cases where there are mulitple or high value assets. We advise on pension splitting, separating assets where businesses or farms are involved, maintenance issues in high income families. On the Children side we have two Law Society Children Panel Solicitors and deal with most children law issues, including adoption and abduction. We also deal with domestic abuse cases.
