Since 1987, Shevi Arnold has been an editorial cartoonist, comics magazine editor, arts-and-entertainment writer specializing in comedy and entertainment for children, and a consumer columnist for the Jerusalem Post. With degrees in English Literature and Theater Studies, a teacher's certificate, and 12 years experience as a writer-illustrator, she began writing books for children and teens in 2002. After writing seven young-adult and middle-grade novels and 40 picture books, and winning third place in SmartWriters W.I.N. contest in the YA category as judged by Alex Flinn (author of Beastly), Shevi has decided to take the plunge into ebook publishing. She's currently working on formatting and submitting her first novel--a YA fantasy epic--to Kindle, Nook, the iPad, Smashwords and more. Toren: The Teller's Tale is about a magical storyteller who struggles to accept the magic within herself. Shevi began writing it in her mind when she was still a teenager, because she wanted to find someone like herself in the books she read. She hopes that Toren will inspire other girls to embrace their own magic, whatever that magic may be. Also in the works are Why My Love Life Sucks: The Legend of Gilbert the Fixer; Ride of Your Life, a story of undying love inspired by true events; and a funny semi-autobiography The Secret Life of Mira Levy, Rabbi's Daughter.
