My background is in finance, investor relations and graphic/web design. It may sound like a strange combination; but my left and right brain activities compliment each other in many ways. In my experience, Search Engine Marketing consists of a combination of three disciplines: 1. Formal project management, 2. Design management, and 3. Content marketing Any project needs a solid foundation – from concept to completion; a strategy that allows a product or service to compete in an open market economy. Design management can be defined as 'the identification and allocation of creative assets within an organization to give it a strategic and sustainable advantage over the competition.' In my opinion the creative assets of a company deserves the same recognition as their financial counterparts. Almost every 5 year old child knows that the Golden Arches represents a 'kid's meal', but how many of their parents have ever looked at the financial statements of the McDonald Corporation? Content marketing is all about publishing great content that attracts the attention of the right people in the right state of mind.
