Having worked in 160 countries and territories across six continents, WATG has designed more great hotels and resorts than any other firm on the planet. Many of WATG's projects have become international landmarks, renowned not only for their design and sense of place but also for their bottom-line success. Starting with the firm's first project in 1945 - the renovation of the Royal Hawaiian hotel in Waikiki - we made an early decision to specialize ... and to provide measurable benefits to every client. "The value of good design - what a building looks like and how it feels to people - can be rung up on a cash register." The words of George "Pete" Wimberly continue to guide us six decades later as we measure the success of our projects not only by how good they look but also by how well they work. Pete was way ahead of his time. Over sixty years ago, he was creating architecture with a sense of place. And we're still heeding the principles of cultural authenticity and environmental sensitivity -- they are at the foundation of all that we do. Our staunch commitment to creativity and the bottom line helped to launch WATG from one office in Hawaii to multiple offices around the globe.
