90's fan and blogger, creator of Damn The Man, Save The Empire! at http://co-optingthe90s.blogspot.com/. Damn The Man, Save The Empire! is devoted to 90's pop culture and keeping up with what 90's pop culture icons are doing now. The blog is largely music-focused, including a constantly updated concert calendar, but also extends to film, television, fashion, books, magazines (ones made with ink and paper!) and whatever else I can scrounge up from the depths of my memory. I encourage readers to comment, make suggestions for new posts and discuss the 90's, whether they were there or not! I hope that you enjoy my tweets and welcome to the world of Damn the Man, Save The Empire! A recent graduate of the American Film Institute (AFI), I am also a screenwriter, which means, naturally, I am looking for work! If you know of any job opportunities for a writer who writes about pop culture (music, film, etc.) or an aspiring screenwriter (TV or film), I am available. My AFI thesis film "Spent" has been on the film festival circuit for over the past year and a half, and has won recognition for its depiction of a single woman struggling under desperate economic circumstances. I have discussed the film on several panels for African-American women in filmmaking. Please check out more details on "Spent" here: http://www.spentthefilm.com/. I am also still working on scripts that I began in the screenwriting program at AFI (I wrote 3 features and numerous shorts, four of which have been produced), and am looking for an agent or manager. Please feel free to contact me if you have a heads-up for me...Thanks for reading!
