Hi, I'm Will Roffé. I'm a copywriter, creative director and strategist; so I guess that makes me a hybrid of sorts. I studied the craft of copywriting at Saatchi & Saatchi, after graduating from the industry-run Axis Ad School in 1992. 12 students were accepted that year. At the risk of sounding immodest, competition was freaking fierce. I cut my teeth on some big brands, from inside the biggest ad brand of its time. Since Saatchi's I have worked for a number of ad and direct marketing agencies throughout Australasia, in roles such as copywriter, creative director and executive creative director. I know people really well and write copy that sells. My natural writing style is engaging -- like I'm with the reader. But I can adjust writing styles to suit any project. For a while I seemed to get a name as a banking specialist. I ended up having a hand in relaunching many New Zealand bank brands and creating their advertising and direct marketing materials. Some of my favourite work has been for Westpac and Kiwibank. I've utilised everything from television to ambient to interactive media to get into the minds of suspecting people, to start and continue conversations with them. It's been a really rewarding experience so far. Long may this continue.
