Bio

Anthony Haley is an attorney who provides strategic advice to businesses, and state and local governments. Haley possesses eighteen years of experience working in leading roles at the Texas Legislature. Anthony has worked for Republicans and Democrats in the House, Senate, and Supreme Court. Haley began his practice in 2000 and founded HRWK in 2005. His diverse practice includes the areas of health care, human services, legal services, education, transportation, technology, municipal affairs, and energy. Prior to opening his consulting practice, Haley worked as Vice President for University Relations at Texas Southern University from 1998-2000. In 1997 Anthony served as Chief of Staff to Senator Rodney Ellis during the 75th legislative session. In 1995 he was Ellis' General Counsel during the 74th session. Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Phillips appointed Haley as General Counsel to the Texas Commission on Judicial Efficiency in September 1995, under the chairmanship of Baylor University Chancellor Dr. Herbert Reynolds. He served as General Counsel to the Joint Select Committee on Historically Underutilized Businesses in 1994. Haley cut his teeth in the Texas House, where he was Representative Garnet Coleman's first Chief of Staff from 1991 to 1993. During the Summers of 2000 and 2001, Haley served as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Tech University School of Law, where he taught a course on the legislative process. He guest lectures at the Bush School of Government and Public Service. Anthony has served on the faculty of the UT School of Law Advance Texas Administrative Law Seminar. He serves on the boards of the Travis County Healthcare District, New Milestones Foundation, SIMS Foundation, Central Texas African American Family Support Conference, and KLRU. Haley is also a member of the Seton Forum, Austin Black Lawyers Association, Digital Media Council, and StrataTx. His wife, My-Cherie Haley, designs accessories and is a professional model.
