Bio

I'm a lawyer who specialises in counselling multinational clients on their risk and compliance across Europe. Recent projects include advising a number of retailers in moving sales online or entering new markets, advising on the launch of innovative new products and services, ethics and compliance code implementation, internal investigations, security breach, emerging technology, consumer marketing, branding, corporate governance, online reputation and on pan-European privacy policies. Clients include Fortune 250 organisations as well as household names in manufacturing and financial services in Europe. I've also written articles on technology and compliance related topics. I am a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing; Vice-Chair of the New York State Bar Association International Section and was formerly a member of the Advisory Board of the Georgetown University Advanced eCommerce Institute, Washington DC. I have spoken at conferences in the US, China and across Europe. Presentations have included sessions with the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and PLI. In 2004 I was a guest speaker at the International Information Integrity Institute conference in The Hague. In 2005 I was a keynote speaker at the EC funded ‘Personal Data Protection: Policy and Practice in the EU Accession and New Member States’ conference in Sofia. In 2006 I was a guest speaker at the W3C conference - the so-called 'Olympics of the Internet'.
