Raised and educated initially in Prague (Praha) when it was still capital of Czechoslovakia. Postgrad in UK. Postdoc in USA. Started entrepreneurial career after ten stimulating years in research at a big pharmaceutical company in the UK (Wellcome Foundation Ltd).
