Iâm a consultant, with some 20 years of experience in environmental assessment, regulatory affairs, corporate responsibility, and sustainability. Iâve been involved in projects across Canada and internationally, including China and the Middle East, for clients in the energy, mining, infrastructure, transportation, and government sectors, providing both strategic advice and practical implementation support. I strive for transformational corporate responsibility wherever possible. I chair the Board of the Southwest Alberta Sustainable Community Initiative, a community-driven multi-stakeholder synergy group established in 2002, to foster sustainability by improving the communityâs knowledge and building engagement, collaboration, and decision-making capacity. I believe in personal responsibility and integrity. On LinkedIn, I manage the Canadian CSR and SD Practitioners Network, Canadian Environmental Assessment Practitioners Network, and the CSR and Social Media group. I spend far too much time on Twitter. I have a B.E.S. in physical geography and geology from the University of Waterloo and a M.Sc. in earth and atmospheric sciences from the University of Alberta. I wish Iâd known earlier that I would never use periglacial geomorphology in my work, except perhaps as a conversation-starter (or ender) at cocktail parties and networking events. Iâm originally from Toronto. Now Iâm an urban refugee (some might call me an âamenity migrantâ); I live in a small house in a small town in southern Alberta, where the prairies meet the mountains. I can see Montana from here. I get my city fix when I travel for business. I appreciate high-speed internet.
