For the last several years, I've been working as a life coach for kids in distress. I provide one-on-one coaching and private tutoring wherein I reframe the social and emotional thinking of at-risk students. Using a strengths based approach, I improve academics and reduce truancy, which is how and why I got the nickname, Child Whisperer. I now specialize in classroom management and school wide discipline. I've expanded my reach back into the classroom in schools all over the country with a program called Time to Teach! Nearly half of all new teachers leave the profession withing five years, while it takes about three to seven years for teachers to develop skills that enable them to consistently improve student achievement. I find this unacceptable. We need more great teachers, not less. One of the major flaws in some classroom management systems is that the teacher gives numerous chances, requests or warnings - all of which waste academic instructional time. Our proven, research based and data supported strategies reduce 70% or more disruptive behaviors, which results in positive changes in the most challenging students on all types of campuses across the country.
