Kevin Lee Allen is an American artist and designer of scenery for film, television and theatre; specialty/themed interiors; special events; museum exhibitions and spectacular signage. His work spans architecture, graphic design and sculpture. He has worked across the United States and on three continents. He is the author of the Getting Started Guide to Vectorworks Spotlight published by Nemetschek NA. Mr.Allen's writing is focused on set design and lighting design for the entertainment industries and exhibit design. He has lectured and taught at several universities, including Montclair State University where is is adjunct professor in the Department of Theatre & Dance. Kevin Lee Allen attended Montclair State University where he obtained a degree in Theatre and the Lester Polakov Studio & Forum of Stage Design in New York City. Kevin Lee Allen is noted for his extraordinary service to his community. From 1995-1998 Kevin Lee Allen was elected annually to the volunteer position of President of the Montclair Chamber of Commerce. He was a founding board member of the Montclair Economic Development Corporation and was instrumental in the formation and organization of the Montclair Center Business Improvement District. For the BID, Mr. Allen created the Montclair Center Stage summer concert program and the physical structure that anchors the concert series in the heart of the downtown area. A project that has driven customer visitation. An artist as well as an arts supporter, Mr. Allen has served on the boards of First Night Montclair, The Frog and Peach Theatre Company and The American Globe Theatre. Kevin Lee Allen has received awards from the NATAS, the BDA and PROMAX for television set design; the NJ Theatre League and Montclair State University for his theatrical scenic designs. Kevin Lee Allen is a scenic design member of the United Scenic Artists Local 829 of the IATSE. He lives in a unique Mid-Century Modern home designed by architect Arthur Rigolo.
