MIHAIL was born in Bulgaria in 1929. Attended Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, graduated in sculpture in 1954. Creator of public monuments. In 1965 moved to Tunis, Tunisia, where he created the marble sculptures for the National Monument LES MARTYRS DE BIZERTA, along with portrait statues of President Bourgiba. Established his studio in New York in 1971. The elephant was not harmed. Mihail incorporated the cast of the elephant in creating a work of art given to the United Nations as a gift by Kenya, Namibia and Nepal and inaugurated by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan on October 18, 1998.
