Players Preferred Apparel & Accessories based in the ATL. We are a brand that produce limited edition items inspired by hip-hop & street art. When I envisioned building Players Preferred as a brand, it was important to me that our name be synonymous with classic style, and also express a rich influence of Hip-Hip Culture. My aim with our style is to capture the timeless look of Ralph Lauren and blend it with the visual street awareness of Marc Ecko (obviously two of my biggest influences); a look I that have coined, “Hip-Hop Chic.” I often refer to Players Preferred as the brand that FUBU would have ultimately matured into (another big influence of mine). FUBU always had its finger on the pulse of inner city America, giving the people exactly what they wanted. Also I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the contributions of Karl Kani to the urban fashion world. His innovative ideas & cutting edge sense of style is still evident today. Karl Kani is to urban style, what James Brown & Parliament was to Hip Hop music…fundamental and essential. The examples set by the “Greats” that came before us are woven into the very fabric and aesthetics of Players Preferred, and is fused with our own fresh distinctive style. Let any success that we may have be credited to those whose shoulders we are able to stand upon. They understood, as we do that great clothing should be a vehicle of self-expression and speak volumes to the world around you.
