Building and Bridging Communities. You've heard the phrase born to shop. I was born to do public relations. Graduating from Kent State University at age 20, I launched my career at Crain Communications' Automotive News in Detroit. Keith Crain hired me to create and run the Automotive News World Congress, still going strong after 35 years. My work was awarded Successful Meetings coveted Gold Award as the best meeting planner in the country in 1976. Yes I can! Always positive, given the opportunity, I will always create and test new ideas, bringing them to fruition, on time and within budget. An early adopter, I jumped on the technology bandwagon from the get-go. Designing my on database system that rivals most, even today. I was among the first to use e-distribution of press releases, reaching media with html designed press packages. It was at Chrysler Corporation's suggestion that I formed Chicago-based Kurman Communications in 1983. They wanted representation in their Central Region and charged me with implementing all media relations strategies serving 17 states and national management of marketing tie-in promotions. I represented Chrysler for 10 years, under Lee Iacocca. Shortly thereafter, I was retained by Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants and boutique Hotel 21 beginning my foray into the restaurant and hospitality marketing business. Today, Kurman is recognized as a world leader having been responsible for launching and marketing such brands as Einstein Bros and Quiznos to fine and casual dining brands like Tru, Houlihan's, Gordon Biersch and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Those who know me understand that my tenacity, insight and dedication have contributed greatly to our successes. More than the public relations and social networking services that I offer, my insight into problem solving and opportunities, community building and the challenges facing business today provides for an outstanding platform for success.
