While taking English at University, Michael discovered that he was a grammar pedant, a rare and greatly under valued gift, which led to him working as a high school English and Journalism teacher and, eventually, as a full-time writer. In between he worked as a chef in France, Monaco and Italy. He cooked for the rich and the famous (including Bono and Martina Hingis), as well as the rich and obscure. Michael moved to Vancouver at the end of 2008. Working as a freelance writer, he has covered hotshot chefs and sublime spas for magazines, written copy for websites, and continues to work on various childrenâs books that foster fun and an exploration of language. Michaelâs passionate approach to his creative and non-fiction writing, evident in his desire to find the perfect word to complement the situation, is matched only by his passion for tasty, fresh, unadulterated food.
