My blog: http://shanfoto.wordpress.com I was born in 1966. There are three paths that have converged in my life: the photographic path, first as an amateur, then, in 1999, as a professional; the naturalistic path (as a biologist), that helps me to search for specific landscapes, plants and animals, and to know what I am photographing; and the caving and mountaineering way, that permits me to reach the most stunning locations (snowy mountains, fabulous caves, deep canyons and isolated beaches) with all the photographic gear. The result is a varied stock of individual pictures and photographic essays. For me taking photographs is like cooking on a slow flame. I wait for that special light, that special moment. I walk and walk searching for and finally reaching the desired point of view. But, even so, the light changes rapidly, and it's important to work quickly to capture de intensity of the moment.
