Bio

I recently began the amazing adventure of raising honeybees and what a journey it has already been! This summer my husband and I caught several swarms - many of them I caught myself. Who would have ever thought I would be able to add this to my list of - "what have you done that is unique or unusual?"! I must say that this adventure has changed my life in many positive ways. It is true - the honeybee population is declining and backyard beekeepers are needed EVERYWHERE! Did you know that bees are in some way responsible for 1/3 of the food we eat - what would be do without them? Because I live in a cold winter climate I have many months to create wonderful products with the beeswax and honey that I have obtained from my hives. Wow - what a luxurious treat for your skin and how many healing properties honey has - many books have been written. The more I use these products the more excited I get about them and how they really work so well without all the petro-chemicals and additives. So my purpose is twofold - I hope to inform people of some interesting (and entertaining) honeybee tidbits to help increase awareness of just how important they are to our society the whole world over. I also will continue to create simple, luxurious products with the pure, rich, natural ingredients that I am able to obtain from my honeybees.
