Since 1999, SOLARIPEDIA founder Robin Rogers has worked in sustainable design and building. She was a contributor to the development of a national green building standard and guidelines, and has helped launch several green home building programs. Her Master of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech was focused on passive solar design and energy modeling, and she became a LEED AP in 2002. Since graduate school, she has collected many resources and links to information that have helped in her career as a sustainable designer and consultant. She believes sustainability is achievable by anyone through education and action - designers, engineers, landscapers, homeowners and others simply need information and inspiration about how to accomplish it. So she developed this website in conjunction with Cory Crocker of WebKey who designed the powerful database that supports the sharing of all this great data. SOLARIPEDIA is the result of her personal commitment to furthering sustainable built environments and it is strictly an online resource to keep the footprint as low as possible. It is organized under Global Swarming Limited Liability Corporation in Washington State, USA, formally established in 2008; our only revenue streams are through the website ads, our bookstore and donations to the site.
