Constantia Maria (Sten) Oomen (Geldrop, the Netherlands, December 2, 1967) is a Dutch author and publisher. Oomen completed secondary teacher training in German and Dutch in 1990 and graduated cum laude in German from Utrecht University in 1993. At seven years of age, she experienced an out-of-body experience while under general anesthesia for a tonsillectomy. Since turning 18, Oomen alleges to have experienced regular conscious out-of-body experiences and related phenomena, and she has been keeping a daily record of her dreams and out-of-body experiences since 1986. Oomen worked as a professor for 12 years, but she now focuses her attention on informing people about out-of-body experiences. She is also active in the fight against the sale of animals by pet stores. She has been a vegetarian since the age of 15 and a vegan since the age of 19.
