Referrals Education Advocacy Crisis Intervention/Counseling Hotline Hudson (518) 828-5556 Catskill (518) 943-4482 Toll Free (888) 943-2372 Services Available 24 Hours a Day ALL SERVICES ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL Begun in 1981 by a group of concerned citizens, The REACH Center, Inc. has been serving Columbia and Greene counties for over 25 years. Formerly the Columbia-Greene Rape Crisis Center, The REACH Center, Inc. strives to help all survivors of crime or abuse cope with the effects. The mission of The REACH Center, Inc. is to eliminate interpersonal violence and to promote, represent, and address the interests of survivors of such crimes in Columbia and Greene Counties and to serve these communities by advocating for the needs of victims of other violent crimes. 24-Hour Hotline: Crisis intervention and support is available 24 hours a day, every day, to survivors of crime and/or abuse. Services are available for family and friends as well, whether the crime occurred recently, or many years ago. Advocates are available to accompany survivors to legal procedings and medical exams. Counseling for Survivors:Counselors and social workers are on staff to help survivors and their families deal with the many feelings and emotions experienced after a sexual assault, other crime, or abuse. Counseling is available even if the crime is not recent. Community Education: Speakers are available to make presentations to any group on topics such as healthy dating, cyber safety, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse and program services. Training is also provided to professionals such as medical personnel, police, teachers, or social workers who may have contact with survivors of various crimes or abuse. Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers staff the agency's 24-hour hotline on weekends, nights and holidays, and work from their homes. The agency certifies all volunteers as New York State Rape Crisis Counselors.
