The UW Department of Family Medicine (UW-DFM) comprises campuses, programs, faculty, and staff across the state of Wisconsin. For over 35 years, we have provided Wisconsin with quality clinical care, top-notch medical student and resident education, and cutting-edge research. We are one of the oldest family medicine departments in the nation, with origins dating back to 1970, when family medicine was first designated as a medical specialty. And with approximately 150 faculty and over 680 employees, plus an annual budget of over $70 million, we are one of the largest, as well.
