My background in IT (Information Technology) is broad. I have worked on physical systems and printers to repair them; I have worked on servers and networks. I have even spent some time programming. I have also been the liaison between the end users and the programmers to ensure that both parties understood what the other was saying. I have a real talent to be able to explain things in ways that the average user can understand, then turn around and explain it differently so that the IT team also understands. I have taught corporately both in a classroom setting as well as one on one, and found that it was very rewarding. The concept is that there are many people out there who need help with the new technology that is creeping into their homes. Some of these items are digital cameras, cell phones, texting, email communication, skype, just to mention a few. There are also many people who find that they are working with more and more complex programs at work. I help them to learn what they need in order for them to feel comfortable. I can help anyone learn from anywhere. I use a very secure system that allows me to connect to the user's computer and teach them right from there. One of the most important ideas is that everyone learns from their own computer. I know that it can be frustrating to go into a class learn a bunch of things and then walk away thinking I didn't need half that. Then the real frustration arises, you get home or back to work and you can't even get started because your computer is set up completely different from the one that you just learned on. That is why I feel it is important to learn on your own machine. I also hire myself out as an IT support person for small businesses. There are many businesses that need technical support but can't afford to hire a full time tech. I have solved that problem. The list is long, but it is a very important service to the small to mid-size company :)
