Our Mission: Youth Alternatives Ingraham partners with communities and individuals to deliver a full spectrum of social services and mental health care that begins prenatally and continues throughout the lifespan. Our programs advance healthier lives, happier families, and stronger communities. Who We Are: When Youth Alternatives and Ingraham merged on September 17, 2007, we became one of Maine's most comprehensive non-profits. Together as Youth Alternatives Ingraham we deliver a full spectrum of social services and father_daughtermental health care to individuals that begins prenatally and continues throughout the life span. As a united organization, we can respond even more effectively and help produce healthier children and adults, happier families and stronger communities. Within our Children & Family Services arena, our residences and foster parents provide safe havens and create homes for children and youth unwilling or unable to stay in their own. Community supports work with kids and families in their homes, schools, on the streets, in community centers and in the juvenile justice system. For the adults we serve, our residential support and crisis services take on many of the most pressing problems in the community — suicide, crisis, homelessness, mental illness and substance abuse. Advocacy, Prevention and Strategic Initiatives champion the rights of Maine's children, adults and families, by providing parenting education; advocating for effective public policy; and mobilizing state, public and private agencies as well as lay persons to work together to combat social problems in local communities. Ours is the only social service agency available to adults and children in Cumberland County 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This year alone, we will proudly serve more than 12,000 children, adults and families in need.
